T-Shirt Quilt Vocabulary:
Border: Fabric added around the sides of a quilt to add color, and also make it larger.
Sashing: The strips between the squares (like picture frames.)
Cornerstones: The small contrasting squares at the intersection in the sashing. (See the full-size quilt with green and black borders.)
Novelty print: Fabric with pictures like musical notes, tractors, butterflies, etc., to reflect the interests of the quilt’s recipient. (See the sashing in the full-size quilt with green and black borders.)
